Charles C. Moreno, M.S.
Charles Moreno is a first year graduate student in the Neuropsychology track of UF’s Clinical and Health Psychology program under the mentorship of Dr. Rus Bauer. He served an enlistment in the US Marine Corps and completed a 12-month tour to Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom. After his military service, he graduated from San Diego State University (SDSU). While attending SDSU, he was a research assistant at the Center for Healthy Aging and Neurodegenerative Disease Research (CHANDR) under the direction of Dr. Paul Gilbert.
Clinical and Research Focus
His research interests are memory and perception in individuals following mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) and/or repetitive brain impacts (RBI). He is also interested in identifying neuroanatomical structural changes within the medial temporal lobe that could mediate memory and perception in these patient populations. Although Charles does not begin clinical core rotations until Fall 2017, he is looking forward to being exposed to various clinical areas and learning how they interact with each other in order to better formulate his own interests.
